Travel Pocket Watch w/Alarm

£64.00

Some of us may harbor a memory of a granddad wearing a vest with a special watch pocket. My own granddad's large chain shackles helped me and my brothers and sisters to learn to count. His watch opened and showed an actual dancing ballerina when the hour was struck. Our reproduction pocket watch is much smaller than my granddad's, but then it's supposed to be light enough to go on round the world trips. It also doesn't show leggy ballerinas; instead, it offers an unfailing alarm. The dial is appropriately a 'radio silence' telegraph room clock dial. After the Titanic era, maritime nations agreed on a few minutes total radio-silence each hour to be able to register May-Day signals. Radio silence is a wonderful thought when snoozing in far away hotel suites.
